Welcome to the Dutchess County Young Democrats Website

The Dutchess County Young Democrats is a chapter under the New York State Young Democrats, the official Youth Arm of the New York State Democratic Party.  Our mission is to incorporate young people into the Democratic Party. The Dutchess County Young Democrats attempt to accomplish this goal through a variety of core activities including:

  • Recruiting new Democrats and registering them to vote
  • Training Young Democrats to be effective campaign volunteers and field workers
  • Leading campaign invasions to help Democrats win close elections
  • Educating young voters on the issues that matter to them and communicating the Democratic message to young voters using the Internet, and
  • Reaching out to Young Democrats and giving people ways of getting involved through social events, community service and other civic activities.

In 2006, the Dutchess County Young Democrats took part and organized a variety of campaign, community and networking activities. From participating in literature drops for Congressional and New York State Senate and Assembly candidates to cleaning the shores of the Hudson River, young Democrats from throughout the County came out to do their part to better the quality of life for area residents.

If you are a registered Democrat who is between the age of 18 and 35 we hope that you will consider attending one of our many upcoming events and becoming active in our organization.
